Asal-usul nama bandar Ipoh

Do you know the history behind the name of Ipoh city? The name was actually derived from a tree named "Upas". Long time ago, the Whites who came to Ipoh pronounced the "Upas" tree as "Epuh". Therefore, after years, the name has became Ipoh. I learnt this fact during my 2 days vacation in Ipoh last week.


Yes, I am a Tesl student from IPG Ipoh but since last yearsI had never went to any proper vacation in Ipoh. This time, my friend and I went to visit Ipoh and checked some places of interests here. We don't have any vehicles, besides, my parents had told me earlier not to rent a car. Therefore, we went to a place from another place by using public transportation service. Oh, I hope the quality of it will be upgraded soon.

In addition, we preferred to walk instead of using the public transportation service due to several reasons such as it is more efficient and to cut the budget as well. Mhohoho.

Gunung Lang

We began our journey with Gunung Lang Recreational Center. We went there in afternoon and it was so hot. There, we spent our time for almost two hours by looking around the island (is it?). In order to get into the island, we must go there by boat. It costed us RM 3 per person. Idk if people can arrive there by using land vehicles or not. The place is attractive and calming. It will be perfect for a picnic activities for family and friends. The place also offers us with some animals such as ostrich and deer.  We can give food to those animals.

Then, we headed to Japanese Garden. We should feel like we were in Japan because the landscape is beautiful. However, the place will be better if the maintenance is upgraded. The place should be regularly checked in order to keep it in a good condition.

After that, we walked until we saw Heritage Hotel. At first, I wanted to perform my solat there, however, after thinking deeply, we made a decision to stay there. Therefore, we checked in and had a good rest there.

Later, we walked to Ipoh Parade to buy some clothes for the next day and food to accompany our nights. We had a tight sleep after that.

The second say, we continued our journey after taking a heavy breakfast. We walked to Ipoh Railway Station. Then, we took several photos there.

We kept walking and only stopped after noticing some beautiful garden or monuments. It was quite funny
because we stopped almost everywhere just to take photographs. Haha.

Pokok Upas

After several miles walking, we found another place of interest which is Darul Ridzuan Museum. Thus, we excitedly entered the museum and spent time there.

In evening, we took a taxi to Kinta City. At first we wanted to go to Nasi Ayam Puziah, however, we changed our minds later.

Bhaha. That was how we spent our weekend last week. Hopefully we are able to visit other interesting places after this.

Lawatan Sambil Belajar ke Gua Tempurung '11

On last July twenty second, K12 and K13 went to Gua Tempurung. This outing had been organized  by K12 and it was an honour for K13 as we had been invited to enjoy the blissful day together. Our beautiful kind-hearted tutors, Mdm Hasni and Ms Jen were there too.

I had gone there last 2008. Gua Tempurung does not change much I guess. I've been undergone the same adventure. However I found the second trip presented me with less exhaustion rather then my first trip there. Maybe I had grown stronger? Haha.

There we could see miracles such as thousands natural rocks that look like they had been carved to form shapes like horse, crocodile, woman, a pair of legs and many more. Plus, our friendly guide told us that we will feel a chill in the air when we arrive at a special place there. Definitely he's not lying or making untrue story as there's a cold and windy place until many of us claimed that we're sitting in a room that had been provided with air-conditioner. Hmm, I think I didn't go to that place in 2008 as I can't remember that place? Were we there Yui92?

I kept my phone in bag that had been put in Mdm Hasni's car. Thus, pictures could not been taken. I forgot to bring my helpful camera that had been used to take photos in the cave last 2008. Unlucky me, all the photos from my camera is no longer exist. I had transferred them to my previous PC and unexpectedly everything was gone. No more recorded memories that are able be printed. 

Adventurous activities are never being my in my list-to-do activities. However, I'll participate to them if there is any chance offered. At least I'll get the experience though it's not a pleasure for me. xD

Language Camp TESL IPGKI 2011

Yay! Finally the camp is over. Hehe. Though it was kind of tiring but it is worthy. We gain so many experiences here and there. I've learnt so many things directly and indirectly. From the matter of academic purpose like how to learn English efficiently in a fun way or how to become a good speaker until to some non academic purpose but more to life things like the matter of trusting and believing people. I've found many people are very awesome. For example, some can sing and act very well, dance brilliantly, good speakers, conscientious planner, extremely creative creator, and so on. Oh, all of them are very talented teachers. I am glad to meet them here. But in contrary with that, although this camp should be a platform for me to mingle with my college mates but I think I am not really into it yet. Hehe. I am sorry but I am the kind of people me who used to build a wall instead of bridges. I may take five years to break the walls. But once I love, I'll love forever. And I know I love my friends here..heee xD
Okay, leave the story here, because I want to share some exciting and interesting stories during the camp.weee!

Day 1

We started the registration at 3 p.m. The name tag was given. Basically I did not arrived there at pulako on time. Uuu. Then randomly we had been scolded by Mdm Hadzra. Not really being scolded but she just reminded us to be punctual. Phew~ I thought the registration will be held on 3 until 5. So I can come anytime that I want. Hehee.. Moreover, we also had been given an chicken egg for each of us to kept. It is called as a 'responsible thing'. So I must keep an eye towards it until the last day of camp.

Day 2
We began the day with a session of aerobics. Wee..I like to move it move it. xD

Then just like the other camp, we are were having an ice-breaking session. We were assigned to create our own logo, jingles and motto. My group which is group five chose the name G5 to emblazonedt our motto which are glorious, gorgeous, gay, great and genius. The motto might looks hardly to be achieved but we are planning to get over there. Hehe, as saying tells us that those who are never plan are those who plan to fail. I like the jingles of my group. It is more less sounds like this : we are the B-E-S-T. Among the R-E-S-T. So Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah. Then la la la la la ( I forget the next line, xD). But the tunes still stuck in my mind.

Then we continued with session NIE. NIE stands for newspaper in education. Yeah, I love newspaper as it  can turn to be as one of the most effective tools for teaching, really! Kids absolutely can gain many benefits from it. Hmm, now I'm in the stage of finding some other material that can be used to make learning English becomes fun and interesting. And if I get them all, absolutely I'll write them here. :-)

Oh, for this NIE session, we were given a topic for each group. Our group got the topic of tourism. So we decided to cut eye-catching pictures from the newspaper and arranged them to be an advertisement of our tourism island. We named it as English Language Island as only English language is permitted to be used there.

After that, we had an opening ceremony. I was one of the choir members. Hehe. The theme song, 'We Believe' is created by Mark, one of my friends here. Some lyrics to be shared, : we believe we can fly  in the sky up high, where our dreams are the biggest of all kind, our love has put us at the top of the world, so let us show off what we have~~

The day continued with another session of language games. For this session, we were divided into new groups. We played at four station. My group lost two times. Hehe, so our faces had been 'conteng2' by the group one members that organized this language games.

 Then at night, we were having a school visit rehearsal as our lecturers want to know what activities will be done by us at school. Yeah, at day 4 we went to visit a school. I'll tell it later yeah. xD

Then the night was proceeded with a skits practice. My group was the organizer for the skits competition. Yeah, we were having some problems to find juries for the competition. Pheww~~ Luckily, Ms Jen, Mdm. Zalilah and her daughter Miss Diyana agreed to become juries. Thank you so much!

Day 4
A day that I think most of us get really excited about it. It was the day of school visit. We were divided into three big groups. I was chosen to go to SJK(T) Tanjung Rambutan. Another two schools are SJK(C) Changkat Kinding and SK Pakatan Jaya. I was very nervous. But children there are very supportive. Hey, I mean, they were very actively participated in our prepared activities. Wow, the children were very energetic! And they showed full of respects towards us. I am very grateful as some experiences of handling with kids when I was one of the members of friend's guidance organization at school do help me very much. Kids love songs, especially a short song accompanied by some movements. So, I taught them the 'Pizza' song. ;-). Moreover, it really touched me as they said good morning teacher, thank you teacher, I love you teacher, teacher, please come again. Uuuuu~ The greatest feeling!

I have the videos of them singing the love song from Barney but I couldn't transferred it in my PC. Haish!

Then at afternoon, we have our session of puppet show. Oh, we just finished our puppet just couple minutes before we had to present it. Ohoho. I could not find any pictures too...Hmmm. Aha, okay, I know Chan Chan will love this. I nearly fall after giving the reflection for puppet show. So, in order to make myself become not too ashamed, I just walk like nothing happened. Err, but I made a kind of gestures like 'lalalala'. Do you get it? Ehm, it perhaps looked like this:

At 5 p.m, we were having a forum session. There were eight participants. Two of them are representatives from my class, who are my good friends Evelyne and Thevika. They had done a very good job. Actually I came a little bit late for this session, then I xdan dengar the first participants talk. This forum was interesting because they need to tell us their own experiences. They were discussing about, "make peace with the past, don't screw up with your future".

At night, we were having our skits competition. Seriously, I like all the performances. The performances were very entertaining! I dare to say it looks naturally fun more than tesl night. Yeah, really. But perhaps it can be improved next time. I hope in having fun too, we won't leave the rules. Yeah, for Muslim, we must be aware and make sure don't terpegang lain jantina. We can have fun together but we still have the limit. :-)

Day 5

redah hutan itu

The jungle trekking day. Hmm, jungle trekking was fun. It was not so tiring. I just dislike the pacat. Hehe. So, I will always look down at the ground and miss the chance to enjoy the nature because I was too busy protecting my leg from becoming the pacat's target. I still have the parut that pacat had gifted me when I was a form 2 student. I went to English camp and pacat gigit me. Haish! I was crying like crazy and I remembered Ainn always teased me for that incident. :-p

Then we proceeded with exhibition activities. Hehe. I went back to hostel to take a bath and change my clothes whereas I think perhaps we are not allowed to go back because I didn't see anyone else coming back too. Hmm. Actually I always tend to break rules and it will be more safer to do it senyap2, sorang2.... *wrecked witches laugh*

At 3 p.m. we had our closing ceremony. Myself was involved in choral speaking and choir performances. Hehe. I love all the dances. Pretty dances from pretty dancer. ;-)

After the closing, Zida, Yaya, Mira, Puteri, Yamna and me went to pulako with and wrapped the BBQ's dishes such as chickens, sausages, fishes and corn. It was a rainy evening. Mira and Mr. Lim started the fire. We just afraid that our dishes could not be cook well but Alhamdulillah, everything just perfectly done. We didn't grilled all of them but some of our friends did it. Thank you to them. It was a great night but I can't enjoyed myself too much because I was too sleepy. Haha. xD

Day 6
It was the day to break the camp. Hehe. We were having our gotong royong session at pulako. Me had made the pulako look better than before, isn't it? haha. And before that, we were having a reflection session with Mr. Earnest and Mr. Ruben

Peraduan Menulis Idolaku, Inspirasiku...

Dulu, masih segar di ingatan saya ada seorang guru meminta kami menyenaraikan siapakah yang menjadi idola yang menjadi pencetus inspirasi. Kata guru saya, selain daripada menjadikan Rasulullah S.A.W sebagai idola kita sepanjang zaman, pasti ada sesiapa lagi yang menjadi penggerak semangat yang dikagumi dan namanya sentiasa terpahat di hati.

Dan pastinya ibu bapa juga turut menjadi pencetus inspirasi buat diri saya. Kata orang cinta pandang pertama memang layak dianugerahkan buat kedua ibu bapa kita sendiri. Sekilas mereka memandang bukanlah sekadar pandangan kosong tetapi itulah pandangan kasih sayang. Walau kita jatuh, tersungkur, rebah dan tidak betah berdiri lagi namun pasti kekuatan doa mereka mampu mengangkat kita semula. Saya meminjam kata-kata Asyraf di program Selami Jiwa bersama Dr. Fadzilah Kamsah, ada suatu benda yang itulah racun, itulah penawar. Katanya, doa ibubapa kerana dengan doanya kita akan berjaya dan dengan kata-kata tidak elok yang mungkin tidak sengaja terluah oleh mereka jika kita menyakitkan hati mereka akan membuatkan kita merana sepanjang hidup. Segala perbuatan yang kita lakukan di muka bumi tidak akan membuahkan hasil. Bahkan, tanaman juga tidak mahu subur jika kita menyakitkan hati ibu bapa.

Selain Rasulullah dan ibu bapa, para pendidik juga bertungkus lumus memastikan saya dan rakan-rakan dapat memperbaik diri dan menjadi pelajar cemerlang. Bukan kemasyhuran yang mereka cari, tetapi cukuplah agar kami akan berjaya dalam hidup dan menjadi rakyat yang berjasa kepada agama, bangsa dan negara. Segala pengorbanan yang mereka lakukan semata-mata untuk melihat kami berjaya mencapai cita-cita sendiri. Keletihan mereka diabaikan demi memastikan pelajaran kami tidak tergendala. Pelajaran yang tidak difahami akan diulang-ulang sehinggalah mereka benar-benar yakin bahawa kami dapat menguasainya. Sepatutnyalah, si murid yang perlu berjumpa guru kerana tercicir dalam pelajaran, tetapi para pendidik kami pula sebaliknya kerana sanggup mencari anak-anak murid yang dirasakan ketinggalan agar dapat dididik lagi secara khas. Sehinggalah anak-anak murid yang ketinggalan berjaya kerana mereka itu rupa-rupanya merupakan sebutir mutiara yang perlu digilap agar dapat memantulkan kilauannya. Dan hanya para pendidik yang dengan lembut dan sabar mengajar dapat mengesan mutiara yang tersembunyi di dasar lautan.

Cinta akan tanah air membuatkan saya juga mencintai pemerintah negara. Jika diukur dari sudut usia, tempoh masa untuk saya benar-benar mengenali idola saya mungkinlah agak singkat. Walau bagaimanapun, kehadiran beliau yang sekejap itu telah memberi kesan yang mendalam kepada pemikiran dan diri saya. Kehadiran beliau, iaitu Tun Dr Mahathir Bin Mohamad sungguh mempengaruhi kehidupan saya. Beliau memulakan tugas pada tahun 1981 yang ketika itu saya belum dilahirkan malahan ibubapa saya juga belum berkahwin.

Semasa saya berusia 11 tahun iaitu pada tahun 2003, Tun Mahathir meletakkan jawatannya sebagai Perdana Menteri Malaysia. Ketika itu, saya tidak dapat membendung kesedihan sendiri. Entah mengapa, air mata turut mengalir dengan laju kerana saya mahu beliau terus kekal sebagai Perdana Menteri. Dalam usia 11 tahun, saya sebenarnya belum memahami secara jelas selok belok pemerintahan negara. Namun begitu, saya rasakan Tun Mahathir sangat dekat di hati walaupun belum pernah bertemu dengan beliau. Bagi saya beliau menaburkan banyak jasa kepada negara ini. Walaupun kadang-kadang terdapat segelintir yang tidak menyokong namun beliau tetap meneruskan perjuangan. Kehidupan saya di bawah pemerintahan beliau cumalah 11 tahun sahaja tetapi dalam tempoh itu saya sedar bahawa saya bangga menjadi rakyat Malaysia dan yakin Malaysia setaraf negara maju menjelang 2020.

Sebenarnya aku ambil masa yang lama sebelum bersungguh-sungguh nak memulakan blog ni. Adalah dalam dua tiga bulan jugak fikir sama ada nak buat betul-betuk ke tidak. Solihin ataupun nama glemer Yui kat dunia blog ni dengan Safuan lah antara orang terawal yang aku tanya cara-cara nak mulakan blog ni. Hehe. Jadi, aku pun dalam dilema sama ada mahu buat blog ke tidak tetapi sebenarnya kalau aku betul-betul nak mulakan pun aku dah simpan nama 'kayunkayun' tu...Hahax. Nama friendster aku dulu kayunkayun jugak. Sebabnya, aku nak buat URL tu nanti dekat dengan nama aku jugak. Bila aku nak letak kayun, mungkin pendek sangat bagi aku rasanya. Oleh sebab itu, aku menggandakan perkataan kayun tu. Salah satu sebabnya sebab time tu ada kumpulan Dewi Dewi kan yang melantunkan lagu Dokter Cinta tu. Aku sendiri rasa macam Dewi Dewi tu bunyinya comel sebab perkataan 'dewi' diulang sebanyak dua kali. Hehe. Lepas tu ada pulak The Lucky Laki kan...Walaupun ejaan tak sama tetapi masih mengekalkan bunyi yang sama. So, aku pun nak mewujudkan sesuatu yang dapat disebut sebanyak dua kali. Sebab katanya, berdua lebih baik kot? :-P

    Jadi aku pun mau ajak geng lain join pulak contest ni ya. Aku ajak Jiji dan Bulan untuk turut sama join ya.

Camp Rock

Yay! It comes to the end! The camp is over :-) Yay finally!

Yay! Last day ;-)

 We did water activities ; I never do any activities regarding to water, even swimming. That's why I'm going a little bit of panic when they ask us to go into the sea. Since I was six, my father never allowed me to swim at the sea. I think it is probably because I had been stung by jellyfish when I was six. Therefore I also don't really like the idea of swimming at the sea. Last year, when my classmates organized a trip to Langkawi I also did not follow them to swim. But how I can escape this time? It's a must! Uhuhu.. And I did it! Although I think it is an embarrassing incident but at least I try. And I won't try it again except it is compulsory. But if it just for fun, it's better for me to say bye bye to these kind of activities.

The second day at Pangkor. Before breakfast :-)

This camp reminds me a lot about Huda. I miss the moment she cried and screamed when we did abseiling. I wonder how she'll scream when we do water confidence activities together. We might panic together. Haha. At least I'm not too embarrassed because I bet her pitch of screaming will be higher than me. Well, I know you Huda. ;-P

Silent. Because everybody perhaps is sitting in room and studying for this coming exam. Ehmm no examinations for this semester and another semester. But it is not a ticket for just having fun because a lot of assignments have waited for us. Plus, not only assignments but quite a lot of task too need to be solved before this 20th Oct. Then Hooray! Semester break until 3rd January 11. A brand new year with new hopes hopefully :-)

Pulau Pangkor : Heal Me

Tomorrow I'll go to Pangkor. We need to attend a camp for GERKO. Oh, I'll go with sore throat. Hopefully when I wake up next morning, everything will gonna be alright. I'm ready to say bye bye to sore throat...(even never invite 'you' come!)

What kind of activity will be held there? I'm curious since I never like anything involve with camping. Maybe one thing that kind of exciting me is the last night during camping. One is because the next day, I will go back! Yeah bye bye 'memorable' camp. Another is perhaps because of the last night usually kind of cultural night. So, we can act or sing or dance or do anything.

My friends said that this camp is the best camp that they ever attended. For me..frankly..I disagree..Because I never like CAMPING! But I like the fact that we could assemble together as a big family..hihi..;-)

I'll be awake at a place that i adore so much..-my fully residential school;a place that i'll never hope to be a part of it..but now i'm proud to create one of it's stories..even i'm not the main actor of the show..even i'm not playing the main role in the theatre..even i'm not the person who created the victory or what..I just dont mind..it's never bother me..It just a feeling of satisfaction..It is the place that let me feel warm-hearted welcomed..It just..like there are no main actor or what..it just..like..everybody plays their roles..and everybody is needed in this show..no one is excluded!yes!no one will be forgotten...because..everybody just add spices in our life..no matter..it is..sweet..sour..salty..or what...i just dont care!

Morphology is  the study of word 

Morpheme is the minimal linguistic unit that has meaning or grammatical function

Bound Morpheme is morpheme that can't stand alone and it must be attached to another morpheme

Free morpheme is morpheme that can stand alone

Inflectional Morpheme serves purely grammatical function,never creating a different word but only a different form of the same word

eg: ...happy..happier...happiest

Derivational Morpheme;some morpheme create new words by either changing the meaning

eg: ...happy...unhappy

or a part of speech

eg: ...ripe...ripens

Both inflectional and derivational morphemes are affixes

Affixes is divided into 2 categories

1. Prefixes is added at the beginning of the word
2. Suffixes is added at the end of the word

The derivational morphemes are either prefixes or suffixes

The inflectional morphemes are all suffixes consists of

1. ...s
2. ...ed
3. ...ing
4. ...en
5. ...s(plural)
6. ...er
7. ...est
